Energy Works Michigan, a non-profit organization, was awarded a grant by the Michigan Public Service Commission to administer the Michigan Renewable Schools Program. The program is implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy measures at public and private K-12 schools throughout the state. As part of the program, Energy Works Michigan is promoting green initiatives at K-12 schools through the Greening Michigan Classrooms Grant. The grant provides funds needed by teachers for classroom activities, events, and/or projects that engage students in the challenges and opportunities of building a sustainable future.

The use of Facebook in K-12 classrooms will be an educational tool for both teachers and students. The Energy Works Michigan Facebook Fan Page is intended to be used as a hub for green conversations among K-12 educators, and a place to share and learn about initiatives at schools across the state.
