Astrid Santiago- Intern, is a freshman in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan. Astrid has always been very passionate about renewable energy and green technology. In high school she worked as Vice President of the Green Club to create a recycling program in the school. She also enjoys traveling around the world and viewing different green technologies in other cultures. In the future she hopes to work with architects to improve energy efficiency of houses and larger buildings. As for now, Astrid is looking forward to working with Energy Works Michigan and is very excited to be a part of the team!



Lucas Mitchell - Intern, is a freshman in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan and is currently concentrating in mechanical engineering. He is passionate about the environment and is interested in contributing to future renewable energy technologies. Lucas is a member of the solar car team at U-M. His interest in environmental awareness started as a boy scout learning the principles of ‘leave no trace’ and teaching other youth about their impact on the environment. In his free time, Lucas backpacks with the U-M backpacking club and writes letters to elementary school students through K-grams.
